Commodity to Category Codes Used in Purchasing
The State has moved to a new classification system for purchases to conform to international standards. Referred to as Commodity Codes in MAPS, they are now called Categories in SWIFT. Use this list of Categories or the look-ups on the purchasing pages to identify the correct Category on all your purchasing documents.
