Overview

Business objectives associated with procurement include to:

  • Standardize the collection of procurement data to better leverage state spending;
  • Provide electronic tools and controls to streamline Minnesota’s procurement processes;
  • Allow agencies and the Department of Administration to manage all types of individual agency and statewide contracts from point of creation through expiration;
  • Promote transparency in government by providing buyers, requestors, vendors and the public an array of on-line self-service tools;
  • Integrate procurement and financial processes; and,
  • Embrace the opportunity to re-examine current business processes, rethink current policies and procedures and apply lean philosophies while taking advantage of governmental best practices.
